Behind every Orxata Transforming Jewelry collection lies a concept, abandoned prototypes, hours of handwork, and a whole spectrum of emotions. And behind every photo — just as much. The scent of spray paint in the air, weeks of prep, dozens of lighting setups, and the creative force of a dedicated team.
On May 22, Orxata unveiled Centro — a new collection of transforming jewelry built around the theme of inner balance and personal gravity. These seven one-of-a-kind pieces adapt, rotate, and respond to your body and mood. Centro is a reminder to stay in orbit, even when everything around you is in motion.
A very long period of hard work preceded the appearance of this collection on the website. From the idea, sketches, first test samples, to creating what we want to present to the creative community of our clients. One of the most important tasks for our team was to reflect the character of our jewelry and show them in the photo exactly as we see them. To create a feeling. To emphasize how this collection works.
Today we want to reveal a little bit of the backstage secrets and share the process of fashion-shooting of new jewelry and the challenges we faced on the way to the perfect shots.
How we created the shots of Centro jewelry: the most interesting things left behind the scenes
Preparing for the shoot took several weeks. We searched for visual elements that could bring the collection’s philosophy to life — motion, transformation, geometry, balance. We embodied this through objects that became our visual metaphors:
Gymnastic rings hand-painted with snow-white spray paint. The symbol of the collection is 4 hula-hoops that repeat the lines of the rings on all Centro jewelry. We did not find rings of the right diameter, texture and color on sale, so we created them ourselves! We applied the paint in several layers, achieved perfect matte and velvety finish. And all this to get just two photos!
The flower for the object shoot had to echo the cherry bodysuit on the model. So we artistically pigmented the white anthurium, adding character and juiciness to it.
To emphasize the planetary and orbital theme of the collection, we used balloons in the shoot. However, it was impossible to determine in advance which shades would play best in the frame and match the other elements of the shoot (clothes, lighting). So we bought a whole bag of them and tested them all on location. After the shoot, they all went to please the makeup artist's child.
Our shoot is not exceptional in the context of the fashion industry. Brands put a lot of effort into impressing and evoking emotions in their viewers, and from a 12-hour shoot like ours, in addition to the standard catalog, only a few title shots are selected that are not so much practical as they are meant to convey the mood, idea, and message of the collection.
We invite you to check out our new collection of unique Centro transforming jewelry that will definitely find a place in your heart.
